Join us in taking action locally!

We know that you believe, like us, that some of the most powerful and positive changes begin at home with grassroots action.  Local action makes a difference!

Please join REC in making a difference locally by contributing to our Annual Fund!  Click here to donate, and be sure to designate your gift to "Annual Fund" .

You are also welcome to mail your check (made out to Regional Environmental Council) to us at P.O. Box 255, Worcester, MA 01613.

Your contribution of $25, $50, $100, or $500 is an investment in a healthy, sustainable community.

Our supporters are at the heart of the changes we seek to create, and in 2008 you have helped us achieve so much:

  • In September, we held the first series of Main South Farmers Markets at the corner of Main Street and Benefit Street.  The Market was a huge success, with hundreds of shoppers supporting local, organic growers and vendors.
  • Hundreds of urban gardeners tended their community gardens this growing season, with coordinating help from our UGROW program.  The gardens form a constellation of green spaces throughout some of the city's most urban neighborhoods.  They are places where people can grow food, flowers, and community.
  • In August, twenty one young people graduated from our YouthGROW program prepared to change the world, starting with their own communities.
  • We continued coordinating the Worcester Lead Action Collaborative, a city-wide coalition that now inlcludes dozens of patners who are all committed to eliminating childhood lead poisoning in Worcester by 2010.
  • Close to 1,000 volunteers joined us in cleaning up the city in honor of Earth Day - and picked up 50 tons of trash!

We know that the recent uncertainty of the economy has affected many of us, but please consider making a gift to our Annual Fund. Your generosity will help REC's work remain powerful, creative, and effective.  Thank in advance for working with us to invest our resources and energy where it matters the most: our local community.

Don't forget to join REC's low-traffic email list to learn about upcoming events and program updates!
