Climate Change and Air Pollution
Most scientists now agree that human greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are contributing to climate change and global warming. On February 16 the international treaty to reduce GHG emissions, the Kyoto Protocal, went into effect - without the support of the United States federal government. States and local communities, however, have recognized the need to reduce GHG emissions and air pollution, and both the State of MA and the City of Worcester have begun taking steps to clean thier air and mitigate the harmful effects of climate change.
