Calling All Gardeners!

REC if offering a new benefit to members and community gardeners….
Bulk Seed Ordering

We’ve heard from members and gardeners that it is often difficult to get organized early enough in the season order seeds from a catalogue.  In addition, it is also hard for one person to order enough seeds to make the shipping costs worthwhile.  Gardeners will often end up buying lower quality/more expensive seeds in stores instead.  So this year we are offering to combine our YouthGROW farm’s seed order with yours.

Its easy!  We’ll be ordering from Fedco Seeds on February 1st.  All you have to do is check out the Fedco seed catalogue (available at the REC office at 9 Castle St. #3 or the Artichoke Food Co-op at 800 Main St.  It is also online).  Then fill out our order form available HERE and send it in or drop it by the REC office (to get to the office BY Jan 29th) with your check.  As soon as the seeds come in we’ll let you know!

Some extra notes:
1. The orders can include seeds for vegetables, herbs and flowers only (no potatoes, cover crops, supplies or books)
2. We will be selecting for the order that substitutions are allowed (this means that in order to avoid out of stock situations Fedco can replace one variety for another if they are out of stock – example: a snow pea for a snow pea NOT a shell pea for a snow pea)
3. You can order directly from Fedco yourself – orders just have to be over $25 to qualify for free shipping.

Remember that free seeds and an opportunity to join Worcester’s Seed Exchange Network will also be available at the Spring Garden Forum in late March/early April (stay tuned for details!) However we can’t guarantee specific varieties at the forum.
