Arts @ the Gardens

The Regional Environmental Council's Arts @ the Gardens Program invites you to come have some fun in the gardens this summer:

Date: Saturday, July 15th
Time: 12-4 p.m.
Location: Benefit St. Community Garden.
Tie-dye t-shirt making workshop with free t-shirts.
Time: 6-8p.m.
Open mic in the Castle Street Garden.

Everyone is welcome and is asked to bring their own blankets or chairs for seating.

Arts @ the Gardens matches local artists up with community gardens for summer concerts, performances, and workshops.
The program is supported in part by a grant from the Worcester Cultural Commission, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.


The Clean & Health Communities Act

The Clean & Healthy Communities Act seeks to protect vulnerable communities from high amounts of negative environmental burden.
The bill has been passed through the Senate, and is currently in conference to work out any discrepancies with the bill from the House side.
We are asking for your help in ensuring this bill passes in its original Senate form. There is not currently a threat to this bill by any individual member, but bills can change in conference.
If you live in the district of one of the following officials, please call to state that you would like to see the Environmental Justice bill pass in its original form.

REC Recognized for Toxics Reduction

REC was recognized during a ceremony at the State House for our work with the Toxics Use Reduction Institute. Our Environmental Justice project is reaching out to janitors and offering training on how to reduce the use of toxic cleaning products.
