Weatherize Worcester

REC Partners with Next Step Living for NO COST  Energy Assessments!

It’s easy to participate, click here to request a free Energy Assessment!

Weatherize Worcester is a new  initiative by the Regional Environmental Council (REC) that helps families to receive free Energy Assessment, and also offer incentives for deeper Weatherization work. Since the fall of 2010 REC has engaged in door knocking and other outreach events to help residents participate in this program. Complete a no-cost home energy assessment and $10 will be donated to the REC. Complete a no-cost solar evaluation and $50 will be donated to the REC! This is an amazing opportunity to help the Environment, reduce your energy bills and give back to the Regional Environmental Council.
Did you know most residents in Worcester contribute a small surcharge on their utility bills towards energy efficiency? It’s a system-benefit-charge program, and most residents are eligible for the free Energy Assessment. The Energy Assessment includes a free cost-effective air sealing in the attic and the basement. Energy Auditors will work with homeowners and renters to identify energy saving opportunities and produce a plan of action for each home, while installing instant savings measures such as free compact fluorescent lights, programmable thermostat, efficient showerheads, and faucet aerators (subject to availability).

Homeowners and renters who choose to do deeper Weatherization work may also receive discount on qualified appliances and weatherization work. Weatherization helps us save money on our energy bills, reduces inefficiencies that cause mold, allergen and other environmental health problems. It also helps reduce our carbon foot print, and improve the quality of our environment.  A representative from energy efficient leader Next Step Living will call you to schedule a free Energy Assessment. You can also contact Koby Owusu or Benito Vega at the REC, 508-753-2303 or 508-799-9139 to walk you through the process of scheduling for the Energy Assessment. Let’s help improve efficiency in our homes and make Worcester a green and healthy community.
