Jacob Hiatt School Garden Volunteer Day

The REC School Gardens network supports 34 school gardens throughout Worcester. You can support by helping at Jacob Hiatt Magnet to weed out our pollinator hillside, and plant some beautiful pollinator plants! No gardening experience is needed.
Bread and Roses Community Garden Cleanup

The REC Community Gardens network supports 43 member gardens throughout Worcester. You can support by helping us prep the Bread and Roses Community Garden for the upcoming season. Work will include: weeding, light pruning, and clearing of brush. This garden supports native perennial plants and is a unique garden in our network! Please know that this garden is in the median on Mill St in Worcester. Mill St is a busy road, so we ask that children not attend this volunteer day for everyone's safety.
REC Plant Sale Seedling Sorting

Come join the REC team to help with sorting seedlings in preparation for our 2024 Plant Sale! This event raises money for the UGROW program which supports 74 community and school gardens throughout the city. This fundraiser allows us to give away over 10,000 seedlings to gardens all over Worcester. You can expect to be working outside with a large group. Wear comfortable shoes!
UGROW Seedling Sorting

Come join the REC to organize seedlings being distributed to the REC Community and School gardens network. We’ll be unloading 80+ trays of seedlings and helping to sort them by community and school garden so our volunteer coordinators can pick them up later in the week. You can expect to be working outside with a large group. Wear comfortable shoes and join us for as much as little of this shift as you can!
