YouthGROW kicked off its 14th summer season by taking the team of 34 high-school age teens on an annual camping trip at the Appalachian Mountain Club's Noble View Outdoor Center in Russell, MA. Youth and staff enjoyed swimming, outdoor games, campfire, and s'mores while completing orientation and training and getting to know each other before they began working at the YouthGROW. A huge thanks to our amazing partners at the AMC's Youth Opportunities Office for co-planning the camping trip with us!
Throughout the summer, the YouthGROW workers will be developing leadership and job skills as they maintain two urban organic farms. Throughout the summer, the YouthGROW team will make use of the Incubator Kitchen at the Worcester Regional Food Hub in order to make their Drop it like it's Hot Sauce™.
